The power of connection in a divided society
Every year, the number of refugees continues to grow. Given the enormity of the crisis, is there anything we can do to help?
This year, the stories in our refugees series, Refugees: Displaced, Not Discouraged, focus on the power of connection. How friendships built between refugees and non-refugees forged a shared mission to empower the refugee community to lead meaningful lives while in limbo.
To complement our series, we’ve invited our story subjects Katrina (Open Door Policy) and her friend Nuam, along with Nimo (Sisterhood Community Center) and her friend Tanny to discuss their friendship and how we can get involved and connect with their community!
